What to expect
Casa Vicens is the first masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí and sowed the seeds of later works. Built between 1883 and 1885 as a summer house for the Vicens family, here he showcased his unparalleled talent. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005.
Things to look out for
A private residence until 2014, this building is one of the best reflections of the Neo-Mudéjar or Moorish revival style of architecture, which is seen in many of Gaudí's earlier works. One of the highlights of this building is the dining room. His love for nature is evident in this room based from the birds and vines used in the decors.
